Meet Dr. Jennifer Wade

Growing up in Christiansburg, VA, Dr. Wade was surrounded by dental professionals her entire life. Her grandparents were both dentists. In fact, her grandmother was one of very few female dentists at the time. So, you could say dentistry runs in the family.

Dr. Wade graduated magna cum laude and received her BS degree in Human, Nutrition, Foods, and Exercise at Virginia Tech…Open a new window to the Virginia Tech website…. Next, she obtained her DDS at Virginia Commonwealth University…Open a new window to the VCU website…. Afterward, Dr. Wade completed two years of AEGD residency followed by Periodontal residency and received her MSD at the Medical University of South Carolina…Open a new window to the MUSC website… for a total of five years post-graduate training. During both residencies, she served as chief resident.

Dr. Wade has extensive training in periodontal plastic surgery, dental implants, alveolar bone grafting, and diagnosis and treatment of periodontal and peri-implant disease. She has also received certification through the American Academy of Facial Esthetics and is trained in the administration of Botox.

In addition to working with Drs. Laro and Poston, Dr. Wade is an Affiliate Assistant Professor at MUSC where she teaches both the AEGD and Graduate Periodontal residents. She also volunteers at the North Charleston Dental Outreach clinic, providing dental services to underserved patients.

Her husband, Ryan, is a pediatrician who attended medical school at MUSC, as well. In her free time, she enjoys spending time on the water, going to music festivals, and playing with her rascally dog Rudy!
