What to expect on your first visit?

The first step in periodontal treatment is a review of your medical and dental history. Although a buildup of bacterial irritants is a primary cause of gum disease, there are other factors that can also have an impact on your dental health including smoking, diabetes, pregnancy, stress, and heredity.

During your visit we will examine your mouth carefully to look for signs and causes of periodontal disease. The bone and tissue will be studied through x-rays. With the information gathered from the examination, we will discuss your condition with you and recommend the most effective treatment program. After the appropriate evaluation and consultation, you will receive an a treatment plan, an estimate of the fees and a treatment timeline.
